l         Locate predetermined sites on highways by latitude and longitude using maps and navigational software.

l         Program Hi-Star devices for a 24 hour period and deploy in all lanes in each direction.

l         Retrieve Hi-Stars, read and transmit the data collected.

WESTAT - Data Collection Specialist - 5/15 - 6/15

Data Collection for National Occupant Protection Use Survey (NOPUS) sponsored by The Department of Transportation.                                                         

l         Observation of restraint use, motorcycle helmet use and electronic device use.

l         Types of studies included moving traffic on surface streets and limited access highways, controlled intersections and traffic counts.

l         Observations would be made on passenger vehicles, motorcycles and commercial vehicles with four wheels.

l         Observations would be recorded using tablets and all data would be transmitted nightly.

l         Use of maps and navigational software.

WESTAT - Assessment Administrator - 12/14 - 03/15                                         National Assessment for Education Progress (NAEP) Study.

l         Prepare test materials for predetermined schools and students

l         Tests were given either for Math, Science or Language Arts

l         Tests were given to 4th, 8th and 12th grade students

l         Set up the classroom and direct students as they arrive

l         Provide accommodations for students with special needs

l         Hand out test materials and explain test instructions and procedures

l         Monitor students while testing

l         Collect all materials when completed

l         Complete all post-test paper work

Counts Unlimited -  Traffic Data Collector  -  9/14 - ongoing

l         Perform on the scene traffic counts or video traffic counts using Jamar Technologies hand held traffic counter.

l         This includes turning movement counts, vehicle classification counts, directional volume counts, entering and exiting volume counts, parking lot occupancy counts, signal warrant analysis, travel time run/delay, vehicle occupancy counts and license plate studies.

l         Daily use of Petra Pro software to analyze and transmit data collected.

Westat -  Field Interviewer 8/13 - 03/14 

Field Interviewer for PATH (Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health) study.

l         Visit residents at their homes who had been randomly selected and attempt to gain their cooperation in participating in the study.

l         Qualifying participants would be determined by the computer after limited information was collected.

l         Acquisition of proper consents from all qualified participants.

l         The actual study was then administered using a Windows laptop.

l         If the participant consented, biological samples including urine, cheek cell and blood were collected.

l         Transmission of all data would be completed as well as proper packaging and shipping of any biological samples collected.

l         Maintain a good relationship with respondents to encourage future participation in the study

Data Collection for the National Occupant Protection Use Survey (NOPUS) Commercial Vehicles with more than four wheels.

l         Observation of seat belt use  for commercial vehicle (more than four axles) drivers and their passengers Observations were made on surface streets , and limited access highways including moving traffic observations and traffic counts.

l         Data was collected using computer tablets.

l         Other data collected included type of vehicle, number of axles, hazmat or not, number of passengers, and observation of hand held device use.

l          Proper transmission of all data would be uploaded each evening.

Data Collection for the National Survey of the use of Booster Seats, also known as NSUBS.

l         Passenger vehicles appearing to have child occupants under 13 would be approached and observation of restraint use of up to nine occupants in the first three rows of seats would be made.

l         Interviews would then be conducted  to obtain the race and ethnicity of all occupants and the heights, weights, and ages of child occupants appearing to be under 13.

l         The approximate ages of other occupants (expressed as an age range, such as 16 to 24 years old) and the genders of all occupants are subjectively assessed.

l         Preparation of all data collected and paperwork would be completed each day and prepared for shipping
